things to do with her husband and two kids.
Pukehina Beach Surf Casting - You’ll be surprised at what you can
find at the beach from Snapper to crabs. Best of all, Pekehina is such a
long beach that you have ample space to cast a line.

Kaituna Falls Scenic Reserve Maketu - Surf cast from the beach end
or try the harbour where you can snap up a lot of herring and, if you’re
lucky, you just might score a Kawhai!

Thornton Beach Whakatane - You’ll find a popular spot for catching
whitebait to one side of this harbour while the other side offers a
convenient wharf to reel in a catch.
Moturiki Island - Fish off the island’s rocks but be careful of
high tides and waves that could through you off balance. Best to follow
the locals in choosing a secure fishing spot on Moturiki.

Bowentown Beach - This white sandy beach stretches for 8km from
Bowentown to Waihi Beach. Either surf cast along the beach or fish
inside Tauranga harbour beyond the Bowentown entrance.
