I spent two nights at the Rendezvous after one night at the Langham (my usual hotel of choice). The food was good - well priced and tasted good. Mini bar items were cheap but the selection was minimal. The pool and pool area was ... simple - and not particularly enthralling. One depth across the whole pool and not particularly warm. The decor of the room was nice and the bathroom was very large. The lifts were useless but were being refurbed while we were there. The biggest problem was that the service at the hotel was ridiculous. The concierge did not greet us and left us waiting at reception to check in while he folded towels at the front desk. The service staff in general were rude, short, and unpleasant. Very few were helpful - except for a very short interaction with the assistant manager during check in (because there weren't enough staff on to cover the people waiting). The whole service side of the experience left me not wanting to go back. However if you were to travel there for work and not spend much time in the hotel - as well has having a limited budget - it would probably be tolerable.
Excellent location, very pleasent staff and clean and well appointed rooms.
Only comment for improvement, need a small knife in the cup storage area .
