    Fantastic location. Staff interaction fine. Decor a bit dated but room was clean and quiet. Bed ok, good room facilities. A nice sound system and well chosen music would make a big difference at reception (tinny pop music through a crackly treble-heavy speaker on my visit). It's the small things... Overall, thought it was pretty good and would stay here again.

    "A Beautiful View But That's All" This was given a review of 1 star (Poor)

    My partner and I stayed here for two nights and wish we hadn't. Firstly, the room looked as if it had seen better days. Paint was peeling, the bedspread had been very obviously repaired and the sheets were not what one expects from a hotle like the Copthorne. And the noise! Not only the traffic and people shouting in the street, but the loud sound of our neighbour peeing! Breakfast was thoroughly disappointing: watery scrambled eggs, limited choices and foul tasing sausages. Credit where credit's due, though: the bacon was delicious. But back to our room. The air conditioning was not working and the room was like a sauna due to the unseasonably warm weather. Apparently the whole hotel was on'winter heating' and there was nothing that could be done. So after several complaints we given a solution: a couple of dirty fans and an open window. The only compensation was that the staff did listen, up to a point, and refunded our breakfast payment.
