- Akaroa hosts a Farmers Market every Saturday, 9.30-1pm, next to the Akaroa 4 Square Supermarket in a little park known as Fletchers Hub. Akaroa has a great
micro climate so expect to see locally grown herbs, honey, fruit, vegetables, nuts, olives, olive oil and gorgeous flowers; plus divine pickles and preserves, sauces and jams; cheese, breads and pastries too.
- Also on your Must Visit list is Akaroa. Originally settled by the French, it's a gorgeous town with equally beautiful scenery as you get there. Fish n Chips on the pier is a kiwi tradition! It's also the best place to see Hector's Dolphins - the smallest dolphins in the world. Book a trip out - you might even get to swim with them.
- Summer in Akaroa is a sunny, friendly, bustling paradise. Swimming out to the platform in the sheltered bay is always fun, as is meeting for a
few drinks and a bite to eat at the waterfront bars. There are always lots of beautiful yachts to look at, some even for hire! Don't forget the tours out to see and swim with the Hector's Dolphins. It's a beautiful time of year to go tramping, and there are free as well as private track options ranging from 40minutes to 4 days. Whatever you do though, slather on the your 30SPF sunblock!
